In the upcoming years, it is predicted that the healthcare market would grow to an astounding $1 billion. This is a direct outcome of people becoming more aware of the value of healthcare. The healthcare sector is in good shape because of recent government attempts to bring medical facilities to every corner of the globe.

ERP software is an unavoidable choice for businesses because of its practical and comprehensive features, which eliminate information silos, simplify it, and automate a wide range of business functions inside various divisions.

Role of ERP in the Healthcare Industry!

cheduling Appointments, gathering Vitals, and managing prescription and investigation orders by documenting Patient Encounters are all ways that ERPNext Healthcare may help you run your hospital, clinic, or office more effectively. You can quickly access a patient's medical history at any time to study the patient's previous illnesses and treatments, which will help you give them efficient, effective care.

Every department in the healthcare system needs to be connected because there are numerous departments there.

Information from pharmacies, lab systems, radiography, picture archiving communication systems (PACS), and electronic medical records (EMRs) for patients must be streamlined. On the other side, patients are given access to the information gathered from their medical records to schedule appointments ahead of time and make decisions quickly.

A few of the Healthcare Modules in ERPNext

Scheduling Appointments, taking Vitals, and managing prescription and investigation orders by documenting Patient Encounters are all ways that ERPNext Healthcare may help you run your hospital, clinic, or office more effectively. You can quickly access a patient's medical history at any time to study the patient's previous illnesses and treatments, which will help you give them efficient, effective care.

The coding process is made simpler by using ERPNext Healthcare to manage multiple medical code standards, such as the ICD 10. A laboratory module with predefined templates for logging typical lab tests is also included with ERPNext Healthcare. You may obtain a complete understanding of the operations with the use of reports like Appointment Analytics and Lab Test Report

Basics

Patient: You can construct a patient list that contains all of their pertinent personal and medical data, including their comprehensive medical history, risk factors, registration fee, permission to access the patient portal, and many other things.

Healthcare Practitioner: Doctors, nurses, ward boys, lab technicians, and other personnel that assists the hospital unit in some way are referred to as healthcare practitioners. You can establish several practitioners in ERPNext Healthcare and connect them to a User with the required Roles. To manage payroll, attendance, or other HRM tasks, you can also link a healthcare professional to an employee.

You can link various addresses and contacts, track attendance, responsibilities and permissions, practitioner availability, healthcare practitioner charges, and refer physicians.

Medical department: There is no limit to the number of departments you may create. You can designate a department for Laboratory-related DocTypes, Healthcare Service Units, and Healthcare Practitioners, and schedule appointments appropriately.

Healthcare Service Unit: By establishing Healthcare Service Units, ERPNext Healthcare enables you to map your facility's infrastructure and manage appointment scheduling, billing, and other tasks. These are offered for appointment scheduling, inpatient occupancy, and billing.

Medical Code Standard: Diagnoses and evaluations that are documented as part of patient encounters are helped to encode by ERPNext Healthcare. Clinical Procedures can also be codified.

As the code data tends to be rather vast, configuring medical code standards and related medical codes are typically made simple via data import. If you need to adhere to numerous coding standards, you can develop as many medical code standards as you like.

Medical Code: The Medical Code Standard document serves as a container for all the medical codes that are standardized under the Code Standard and is used to identify the Code Standard. ICD-10 codes, for instance, are alphanumeric and contain 3–7 characters. ICD (International Classification of Diseases) is a medical code standard. Each code is a medical code that provides a thorough description of a specific diagnosis.

A practitioner can quickly browse the preconfigured Medical Codes in the Patient Encounter and choose the ones that apply to each of the services your hospital provides in order to enable codification. For the purposes of processing patient insurance eligibility, claims, and billing, this is often a requirement.

Setup

Patient History Settings: You can set the doctypes and fields for the patient medical record and patient history using the patient history settings.

Standard document types and Custom document types are the two different sorts of documents.

There are pre-configured papers including patient encounters, clinical procedures, lab tests, treatment sessions, vital signs, and inpatient medication orders included in the Standard Document type. However, you can add or update the document types in this section in Custom document types.

Healthcare Settings: The Healthcare settings page can be used to complete the majority of the global healthcare module.

You can set up the laboratory settings and laboratory SMS alerts here, along with the outpatient settings, inpatient settings, default healthcare service items, default accounts, and outpatient SMS alerts.
